AULA commends David McIntosh
Americans United for Life Action (AULA) commends David McIntosh, a Congressional candidate for the 5th Congressional District of Indiana, for his commitment to protecting life. Mr. McIntosh’s support of life-affirming legislation while he was in Congress from 1995-2001, as well as his overall commitment to defending innocent human life, demonstrates that he whole-heartedly shares AULA’s goal of ensuring that all are welcomed in life and protected in law.
AULA is the legislative arm of Americans United for Life (AUL), the first national pro-life, public-interest law and policy organization. Our attorneys work tirelessly across the nation to help legislators write commonsense laws that protect innocent human life at the state and national level, and to defend those laws against court challenges. Our attorneys have been involved in every life-related Supreme Court case beginning with Roe v. Wade, including successfully defending the Hyde Amendment in front of the Supreme Court.
AULA values Mr. McIntosh’s dedication to safeguarding human life. While in Congress, he had a consistently pro-life record, including voting to preserve the Mexico City Policy to ensure that nongovernmental organizations (NGOs) who perform or actively promote abortion as a means of family planning overseas do not receive federal funds, and voting to ban the cloning of human embryos. Mr. McIntosh also remained committed to successfully passing the partial-birth abortion ban during his time in Congress. Prior to his tenure in Congress, while working for the Reagan Administration, Mr. McIntosh worked to enact regulations that would require no Federal grantees be affiliated with abortion providers.
AULA commends Mr. McIntosh’s dedication to protecting all innocent human life and advancing women’s health. We anticipate the opportunity to work closely with him in the 113th Congress to safeguard the human rights of all human beings.
